Good job President, you have to run law enforcement and clean the government, transparency.

How did we ever get Bakrie, of all people, as a minister for social welfare?

If this wasn't such a serious matter for the Lapindo victims the irony would be so funny.

It would be like making Polycarpus minister for food and pharmaceutical safety!

Don't forget, the elections are coming up and having a constant reminder that the company that is under his minister of welfare has not followed his demands will be a stark reminder to the people that he does not care.

SBY wants a reelection next year so will obviously "for the people's" sake demand payment immediately for the people.

I've lived here my whole life, and I'm not so pessimistic about the future. I think if enough people care about how the world is turning, then you do your part, you help the people around you. You give opportunities to the children of some of the people around you such as through education, and a possibility of a good future, and you are doing your part.

That is enough. Not much comparable to the expenses we accrue living in large cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, etc etc.

These rich and powerful elite classes that are rich from the pain and suffering of others, the destruction of opportunities for children, well whatever religion you believe in there is a special place in hell for them. If you believe in reincarnation, they are the future generations of cockroaches.

SBY signs porn law -- Dec. 9, p. 1

I am a Christian from Maluku and I support this law, for the sake of our children.

We have seen movies such as Arisan which promote gay lifestyle and others with immoral social values.

Enough is enough. This is not about religion, but the future of our children.

Joshua, porn has nothing to do with the protection of children. There are already laws in place to protect the rights of children and women.

The problem in Indonesia is enforcing the laws that currently exist.

I really agree with SBY's decision. As a president, SBY has listened to all the aspirations of the Indonesian people, and there is nothing wrong with him or his decision.

Go ahead President, we love and support you very much.

It's amazing ... when You finally think Indonesia has a president with visions for Indonesia's future with regard to modernization and fighting corruption etc.

And then he surprises us all by taking the country back to the middle ages again!! Muslims, Catholics, Protestants or whatever religious beliefs you have, you can not force these on your neighbors and it's a huge mistake to mix politics and religion.

I'm a European expatriate living in Jakarta, and when I'm traveling I often see on TV, during commercials from the Indonesian tourist board ... welcoming tourists to visit the beautiful Indonesia, that's great!

But it's also time they declare what rules (dress codes) and special behavior are expected from tourists that want to enjoy the sun, beaches and culture in Indonesia. Inform us what the penalties are for different things ... or how much you are expected to bribe the already corrupt police force.

Also, inform the public that Indonesia has become a satellite state of Saudi ... or am I wrong!?

Go go go, Indonesia, be proud of what you are and protect your country. The country you are recognized to be, a country with acceptance and pluralism ... not backward thinking!
