Residents take a time out at Ragunan Zoo

Some capital residents are enjoying their time off during the Christmas holiday by visiting Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta, kompas.com reported Thursday.Visitors, especially families, started arriving in throngs after 11 a.m.
Ragunan's spokesperson Wahyudi Bambang said Thursday crowds were continuing to arrive at the zoo through the afternoon after they had finished attending services in the morning.
"We were expecting about 10,000 visitors today. During this holiday stretch, between Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, we hope to attract 80,000 visitors in all," he said, adding the zoo had been visited by 87,000 residents during last year's holiday season. (ewd)
