West Nusa Tenggara gov leads multi-religious group in Palestine rally

West Nusa Tenggara governor Muhammad Zainul Majdi led 3,000 Muslims, Protestants, Catholics, Hindus, Buddhists and Kong Hu Chu believers in a rally of solidarity with the Palestinians at the West Nusa Tenggara governor's office Wednesday.
Tempointeraktif.com reported the governor along with six representatives of the country's main religious groups had condemned Israel's aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza in a joint statement read by Religious People Network chair Lalu Mahfudz.
The group had also called on the UN Security Council to pass a resolution condemning Israel and invited West Nusa Tenggara residents to contribute at the fund-raising event, which generated Rp 37,783,500 (US$3,400) in contributions.
