Foreign Ministry spokesperson Teuku Faizasyah said Thursday no Indonesian nationals had died or were injured when a blast struck an upscale Bangkok nightclub during New Year's Eve celebrations Wednesday, tempointeraktif.com reports.
"Thai policemen have yet to uncover the motive beyond the blast at the Santika Club, whether it was an intentional crime or a terrorist act," he said.
Thai officials have reported the fire killed 59 people and injured about 130. Most of the victims are from Austria, Japan, Nepal and the Netherlands.
Officials suspect the fire was caused by firecrackers guests had brought into the club or by sparks flying from a New Year's countdown display on the nightclub stage. (ewd)
