Thousands of Muslim university students in Palembang, South Sumatra, staged a rally Thursday and sealed fast-food restaurants Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and McDonald's as part of an anti-U.S.-and-Israel boycott.
Kompas.com has reported the protesters, students from Raden Patah State Islamic Institute, began to throng the streets in the morning chanting anti-Israel slogans.
Upon reaching the local branches of KFC and McDonald's, the students unrolled banners and put them up across the entrances to the two eateries.
"To show our concern over Israel's attack on Palestine, we urge Muslims to boycott all products from Israel and its allies. These two restaurants are part of them," rally coordinator Abu Bakar said.
"We've held two rallies so far this week. We'll stage further rallies to raise funds for the war victims in the Gaza strip," he added.

I m interested to know why the students thought KFC and McD are Israeli. As far as I know, these franchises are owned and operated by the Galael Group. Totally Indonesian owned. Missed their mark as usual.
Same thing happened with the vitriol against Citibank. If they only knew it is owned by an Arab!!!
Well, that's what you get from narrow minded pseudo educated students.

i am fully aware of these kids' concern for the plight of Gaza but conducting raids?
so kids, what is the difference between you and israeli soldiers?
israeli war lords raid the land which is not theirs. it is illegal. these kids raids mcD and the like products or block the access to these restaurants while they have no authority to do so. isn't it illegal as well?
i think they really miss the target here.

Boycotting all products from Isreal and its allies will definitely enchance Indonesia economy.
Raden Patah State Islamic Institute certainly have produced alot of "genius" of poor quality educations.
Should be brave enough to seal your presidential palace next, what say you Abu Bakar ?
