French aid worker stabbed, in critical condition in Aceh

A humanitarian worker from France is currently in a critical condition after being stabbed by a resident of Rinon Village, Aceh Besar, on Thursday.
Aceh Besar Police detective unit head First Insp. Agung Prasetyo said the man, Sebastien Daridan, was stabbed midtorso and is currently being treated at Zainoel Abidin Hospital in Banda Aceh.
Daridan is the head of mission for the French NGO Triangle Génération Humanitaire, which set up an assistance program in Rinon after the 2004 tsunami.
Agung said Daridan was stabbed in a camp in the village at 5.30 a.m. by a local Acehnese who had been identified as Edi Miswar.
"We have charged Edi with the assault. He is currently being questioned in Pulo Aceh to find out what his motive was," he said. (ewd)
