Police confiscate 3.5 tons meth from internet kiosk

Jakarta Police arrested on Thursday members of a drug syndicate, confiscating 3.5 tons of methamphetamine from a three story drug laboratory camouflaged as an internet kiosk in Cengkareng Timur, West Jakarta.
Those arrested have been identified as Suganda, aka Black, Wiryo Sutandar and Eddy Handoyo, the police said.
A police source told kompas.com that, besides serving as a camouflage, the internet kiosk was used by the syndicate to communicate with their buyers online.
Couriers would pose as customers of the internet kiosk and deliver the goods when they were told to, the source said.
Area residents said they were surprised by the police's findings as many of them had become regular customers of the internet kiosk since it was opened earlier this year. (and)
