Govt to spend Rp 2.5 t on public housing

The government will disburse Rp 2.5 trillion (US$220 million) in subsidies to help finance the construction of 170,000 houses and 40,000 apartments this year.
State Minister for Public Housing Mohammad Yusuf Asy'ari said in Banda Aceh on Saturday that the subsidies would be distributed equally in the province.
"We will work with the provincial government in distributing the funds. It will be implemented on a first-come-first-served basis," Yusuf said.
Earlier reports suggest that tax payers of monthly incomes of less than Rp 4.5 million will be eligible for the subsidies. (and)
