The Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) reported on Tuesday state airport company PT Angkasa Pura to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) over allegations that the company may have been involved in the embezzlement Rp 7 billion (US$600,000) of the state's money.
Agus Sunaryanto from the ICW's investigation division told journalists that the corruption watchdog found that a decision by the company to directly appoint private company PT SI to provide devices for running electronic auction projects between 2005 and 2007 may have been motivated by corruption.
The electronic auction (E-auction) system provides online auction services for companies bidding for contracts from Angkasa Pura I and II.
"During the years, we found significantly higher prices offered by PT SI than they were by PT Telkom, [which is] PT Angkasa Pura II's partner in supplying devices for the electronic auction project," he said, after submitting the report to KPK.
ICW reported that the price difference between the two companies reached Rp 250 million, Rp 6 billion and Rp 763 million for the same goods in 2005, 2006 and 2007, respectively.
"The KPK has promised to us that it will immediately take actions regarding our report," he said. (dre)
