JAKARTA: The Jakarta Public Works Agency is set to complete the repair of around 858 square meters of damaged roads across the city by April, an official said Sunday.
The agency has so far fixed 515 square meters or 60 percent of the roads since it began the project last month, agency head Budi Widiantoro said.
"We have allocated Rp 126 billion (US$10.5 million) from the city budget for the projects," he said on beritajakarta.com.
The agency found that there were 91 sections of damaged roads across the city.
According to Budi, the agency will be able to accelerate the repairs thanks to the decreasing rainfall in the city.
"Besides, the number of damaged spots is not as high as in January, which could reach about 10 percent each week."
Budi added that the city administration was preparing another project to overlay roads in the city in July. -JP
