An armed group of at least six men robbed a Bank Mandiri Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at a Borma mini-mart in Ciwastra, Bandung, and escaped with Rp 120 million (around US$10,000) in cash early on Wednesday morning, local police reported Wednesday.
The robbers had escaped with the money in two cars, East Bandung Police crime
unit head Adj. Comr. Djamudin Pasaribu said Wednesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
According to a surveillance camera recording, the robbers had arrived at the store
at around 3 a.m.. During the robbery, the group, who were carrying machetes, axes
and crowbars, threatened two security guards and then tied their hands and feet
with plastic rope, and covered their mouths with duct tape.
The robbers also covered the surveillance camera with plastic. According to the
report they had left the scene about one hour later. Police are still investigating
