PALU: Central Sulawesi Police have netted at least 110 street criminals from January to Feb. 20 this year in an operation called "Maleo Hit 2009".
Provincial police spokesman Adj. Snr. Comr. Irfaizal Nasution said the criminals were arrested for various violations, including extortion, threats, theft, gambling and possession of sharp weapons.
Irfaizal said police also seized 12 motorcycles from the suspects. "We will prolong the operation for an unlimited time," he added. - JP
