Bandung garbage truck kills father, son on motorcycle

A father and his son were killed by a garbage truck that ran them over on Jl. Brigjen Katamso in Bandung, West Java, on Saturday morning, tempointeraktif.com has reported.Mardo, 67, and his son Wedi Utoro, 31, were killed after being crushed under the truck's rear wheel. Both suffered severe head injuries.
The truck driver, Ahmad Kalamudin, 34, told Central Bandung police he was driving past a gas station when the two on a motorbike tried to overtake the truck from the left side. Ahmad said another motorbike was coming out of the gas station at the same time.
“They probably were surprised and lost control over the motorbike,” he said.
Ahmad said he did not realize what had happened until it was too late.
The victims' bodies have been taken to Hasan Sadikin Hospital for autopsy.
Police said Wedi was taking his father from their home in Cibangkong to Santo Yusuf Hospital. (dre)
