China says the changing economic situation will determine if it sees the need for any additional stimulus spending.

National Development and Reform Commission Chairman Zhang Ping told a news conference Friday that there were no plans for more stimulus spending past the 4 trillion ($586 billion) already announced, but that the government was watching to see how the economy responds.

World stock markets fell Thursday after the government did not announce mention any plans for additional stimulus spending when it released details of the stimulus package at the opening of the annual legislative session.
