President receives South Korean counterpart

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received visiting South Korean President Lee Myung-bak at the state palace in Jakarta on Friday, Antara state news agency reported.

The South Koran president and the country`s First Lady Kim Yoon-ok arrived at Merdeka Palace at 3 on Friday afternoon and were greeted by the Indonesian head of state and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono.

President Yudhoyono and President Lee would hold talks which were followed by a bilateral meeting between the delegations from the two countries in which a memorandum of understanding would be signed.

Then at 7:30 in the evening, President Yudhoyono would host a state banquet at the palace.

President Lee and his entourage from South Korea arrived here on Friday for a three-day visit until Sunday, March 8, 2009.

During the visit, the South Korean president would hold a series of meeting with Chief Executive Officer of the country`s companies which have been investing in Indonesia.

On Saturday, President Lee is scheduled to visit Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in East Jakarta, and them to meet with House of

Representatives Speaker Agung Laksono, Vice President Jusuf Kalla, and South Korean community in Indonesia.
