Issues: Indonesia's first defense university

A- A A+

Defense Minister Juwono Sudarsono said in Jakarta that the idea to establish the university was first raised by the defense ministry in January 2007 to meet the urgent need to improve the state's strategic defense capability.

"The institute will transform Indonesia's military and defense education with the long-term objective of developing a modern TNI (Indonesian Defense Forces) military culture," the minister said.

Your comments:

Great idea! I hope this university will be one that not only can produce the best quality students and leaders, but also change and improve Indonesia's security in the future.

It is great. The Teacher's College/IKIP has already become a university, so has the Islamic Institute (IAIN), into the Islamic University. Now, we have another public university, when we already have the Police Academy (PTIK) and others.

Proper way to address rabies

March 10, p. 20

We would like to applaud Soeharsono for his advice on the proper way to eradicate rabies in Bali. We believe he is correct in all his observations and his detailed statement is the correct road to recovery from rabies. Soeharsono is a zoonosis and has spent his life studying transmittable disease from animals to humans.

Your comments:

The government has already distributed a large amount of rabies vaccine, made in Surabaya by the Institute of Biological Products. The vaccine has already been used to counteract rabies in several regions in Indonesia.

The vaccine, named Rabivet Supra 92, can provide immunity for a long period of time; antibodies cannot be detected after a year. There is no evidence of rabies being found in vaccinated animals, which is proof that the vaccine does give immunity for a long time.

This vaccine has already been passed as a biological product using the test recommended by WHO (for requirements above 3.0 *log10*), which was carried out by the assay laboratory

Stray dogs are sometimes difficult to catch for vaccination, but using special tools (such as the metal-loop used for wild animals) could overcome this problem.

The permission to use the oral vaccine took a long time because of the use of genetically modified organisms (GMO).

*If white is might, stop watching TV!'

March 8, p. 1

The pretty young teacher steps out to confront the developer and they instantly recognize one another as the young lovers from the past. They look into each other's eyes and we can see young love rekindled. What the message was going to be. Was it for a foundation dedicated to supporting the poor downtrodden masses?

No, it was Ponds. The message: If the teacher had only used Ponds and had whiter, clearer skin, she could have won the rich guy and saved herself, her school, and the poor masses.

Your comments:

It is sad, that 350 years of oppression has instilled an almost genetic impulse to bow to the Westerner.

Although having many good ideas that we could adopt, there are many instances of foreign interests and Western corporate manipulation that have slowly destroyed Indonesia.

I never understood the idea that white was better; meeting many Western individuals who are brought in from other companies to run their interests in Indonesia, yet do not have a clue about how business works in Indonesia, or actually any idea about business. The qualifications of these individuals do not merit the amount of money given to them.
