JAKARTA: West Jakarta Police found a crystal methampethamine factory, allegedly owned by a drug convict sentenced for life, in Kalibalang, North Bekasi. Identified as Steven, the Nigerian citizen was suspected of running his business from his penitentiary cell on Nusa Kambangan Island.

The factory is located in Pondok Ungu, North Bekasi, said Comr. Adex Yudhiswan, head of the drugs unit of West Jakarta Police, Monday.

The police found out about the crystal meth or shabu-shabu factory from a drug case in Palmerah, West Jakarta. Adex said the factory had been in operation for the past three months. The police detained the 43-year-old "cooker", WY.

Enough ingredients were found at the premises to make 4 to 10 kilograms of shabu, Adex was quoted by kompas.com. - JP
