The Bali Police announced Friday that a man has been arrested in Denpasar for killing Yoseph Indrawan, 40, and his wife Maria Meiwati Atata, 30, apparently in order to steal the couple's car

While police are still investigating, the unidentified man has admitted to killing the couple.

"He admitted to having murdered the couple in Badung regency recently with the help of his son," Bali Police Chief Insp. Gen. Teuku Ashikin Husein told the press without giving the details of the arrest.

The police are still hunting for the man's son.

The man was arrested after a tape from a CCTV camera showed him in the couple's red Suzuki Swift.

Ashikin added that aside from the arrest the police had found a red Suzuki Swift believed to be the deceased couple's.

Gede Suwarta, a witness, said he saw the car being parked by a man at a shopping center on Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai on Tuesday, Ashikin added.

"The witness said that he found a suspicious car, which has been parked nearby his place of business since Tuesday," he said.

"However, besides the red car, the suspect also claimed that he used another vehicle in the murder.

"The other car was used to transport the couple's bodies from Badung to Singaraja in Buleleng, where the bodies were found."

Ashikin said that the couple met their possible murderers on Jl. Gatot Subroto in Denpasar hoping to sell the car.

"Those people then drove to Badung, the region where the suspects killed Yoseph and Maria, before their bodies were dumped in Buleleng," he said.

The police chief said that the authorities would investigate the possible motive and the other possible suspect.

The murder of Yoseph and Maria was revealed on Monday, when the bodies were found at the bottom of a 50 meter high cliff by residents of Pegayaman Village, Sukasada District in Buleleng regency at 10 a.m.

The couple reportedly left their home in Kerobokan in Badung regency on Wednesday (March 12) morning to meet a potential buyer for their car.
