Indonesian boxing sensation Chris John is set to have a rematch against US boxer Rocky Juarez to defend his WBA world featherweight title on June 27 in Staples Center of Los Angeles, tempointeraktif.com reported.

Chris John's manager assistant Tony Priatna said on Sunday that he had reached an agreement with the Golden Boy management about the rematch but had yet to sign a contract.

“We expect not to hold the rematch in Houston, Juarez's hometown, to avoid being influenced by host supporters,” Tony said.

He said that Chris had been scheduled to practice in Australia at the end of this month or in April at the latest.

On Feb. 28, the 29-year-old champion retained his belt after his title bout against American Ricardo "Rocky" Guarez was declared a draw.

The three judges scored the two boxers 114-114 after 12 rounds. (ewd)
