The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has begun a search
of an office in South Jakarta belonging to PT
Rifa Jaya Mulia, a business partner of the Health Ministry, seeking evidence
relating to a graft case at the ministry.
Investigators had started the search at midday on Monday, KPK spokesman Johan
Budi SP told kompas.com on Monday.
As of 4 p.m, investigators had yet to provide any information to journalists on
the progress of the search.
Previously, the KPK had declared both Rifa director Rinaldi Yusuf and former Kimia
Farma director Gunawan Pranoto suspects in an embezzlement case involving the
purchase of X-ray equipment that had caused state losses of up to Rp 71 billion
(US$ 5.1 million) in 2003. (ewd)
