The Attorney General's Office (AGO) said Tuesday it is still considering temporarily discharging two prosecutors accused by the police of dealing ecstasy pills in North Jakarta.

Jasman Panjaitan, a spokesman for the AGO, said that the office was still waiting for the results of an investigation from the North Jakarta District Prosecution Office's Assistant for Internal Affairs.

“The office fully supports the ongoing legal process by the Jakarta Police,” he said, as quoted by state news agency Antara.

Prosecutors Esther Tanak and Dara Veranita were named suspect on Monday. Another prosecutor, Sovi Marissa, has been detained for questioning.

The case began with the arrest of police officer Adj. First. Insp. Irfan and a temporary officer Zaenanto of the Pademangan Police. Police earlier this month seized 100 pills from Zaenanto and 200 from Irfan.

Irfan told investigators he received the pills from Esther. (dre)
