A news report says a court in China has upheld the convictions of two brothers involved in the country's deadly tainted milk scandal.
The Thursday report by state broadcaster CCTV says the decision came against Geng Jinping who managed a milk production center and was sentenced to death for selling hundreds of tons of tainted milk to dairy Sanlu Group Co.
It says Geng's brother, who was a driver at the center and received eight years in prison, also had his conviction upheld.
The appeals were heard in the northern city of Shijiazhuang, home of the Sanlu dairy.
Six children died and nearly 300,000 were sickened after baby formula was contaminated with the industrial chemical melamine in an effort to fool quality tests for protein content.
