The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to
reschedule the questioning of Finance Ministry official Anggito Abimanyu, who
failed to answer a summons on Thursday as a witness in a bribery case involving
the Transportation Ministry.
Anggito had sent a letter explaining his absence at the Thursday's session, KPK
spokesman Johan Budi said.
"Anggito informed us he was predisposed on Thursday and could not attend the
session," Johan said, without specifying a new date for the session.
Anggito is head of fiscal policy at the Finance Ministry, and was reportedly
attending the G-20 summit in London.
Anggito is to be questioned as a witness in a case involving legislator Abdul
Hadi Djamal, who was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe for US$
90,000 and Rp 54 million (around US$5,000) from Transportation Ministry
official Darmawati on March 2.
The KPK alleges this money came from businessman Hontjo Kurniawan to help his
company win a tender for pier and airport construction projects.
Anggito has admitted attending a meeting at a hotel with members of the House, to
discuss funds to build piers and airports in the eastern part of Indonesia. (dre)
