Anggito Abimanyu, head of fiscal policy at the Finance Ministry, answered a summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness in a bribery case involving the Transportation Ministry.
Anggito, who failed to answer two earlier summons by the KPK, was questioned for about four hours on Monday morning.
He was questioned as a witness in a case involving legislator Abdul Hadi Djamal, who was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe for US$90,000 and Rp 54 million (around US$5,000) from Transportation Ministry official Darmawati on March 2.
The KPK alleges this money came from businessman Hontjo Kurniawan to help his company win a tender for pier and airport construction projects.
Anggito has admitted attending a meeting at a hotel with members of the House, to discuss funds to build piers and airports in the eastern part of Indonesia.
“But the meeting did not go into the details of each of the construction projects,” he told reporters. (dre)
