BANDUNG: Adi Mulia Pradana of the Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta won a writing competition on globalization held recently in Bandung, West Java.
Adi's article was titled Protectionism as a recession solution amid economy globalization.
Andika Putra Aditama of Parahyangan Catholics University finished second while Febe Amalia of Padjadjaran University grabbed the third place.
The writing competition was held by the International Studies Students Study Group in cooperation with the International Relations department of Parahyangan Catholics University.
Organizing committee chairman Say-shio Panggabean told The Jakarta Post on Saturday that the three winners were decided after they successfully defended their writings against panel of judges.
The judges consisted of academicians from Parahyangan Catholics University and Paramadina University as well as the Post's two senior journalists, Harry Bhaskara and Tertiani ZB Simanjuntay.
A national writing workshop was also held in conjunction with the selection process of the writing competition.
About 30 students took part in the writing workshop. - JP
