The government of Aceh Nangroe Darussalam has transferred Rp 200 million in cash aid to help the victims of the “small tsunami” in Gintung, Tangerang, via the local government, an official says.
Aceh government spokesperson Nurdin F. Joes told tempointeraktif.com Tuesday that the money was transferred to South Tangerang mayor Muhammad Shaleh a day before.
“It isn’t a significant amount of money, however it shows how the people of Aceh share the pain of the victims, Nurdin said.
A lake wall in Gintung collapsed late last month, creating a deadly rush of water, which killed more than 100 people and ruined hundreds of houses near the lake.
