AGO detains four corruption suspects

The Attorney General’s Office detained four people suspected of involvement in a graft scandal at the Office of the State Minister for Disadvantaged Regions, State news agency
Antara reported Monday evening.
The four suspects are Partono, an official at the state minister’s office, Ook Herumani, project officer of PT Trimanunggal Prayaksa, Mangatas Siagian, project officer of PT Lentera Cipta Nusa and Widharto Wiwied, president director of PT Lentera Cipta Nusa.
Special Crimes Unit Director of Investigations Arminsyah said the four would be detained for 20 days at Salemba penitentiary.
Arminsyah said they were involved in a fraudulent project at the state minister’s office, which cost the state Rp 6 billion (around US$520,000) in losses.
The fraudulent data and information project covered three main areas: Maluku and Papua, Java, Bali and Sumatra as well as Sulawesi and Nusa Tenggara.
"The budget for this project was Rp 6 billion, which was used to pay fabricated labor costs and buy false maps and Arc GIS software,” Arminsyah said.
