Denpasar economic growth reaches 6.79 percent

DENPASAR: Macro economic growth in Denpasar reached an average of 6.79 percent in 2008, Denpasar Mayor IB Rai Dharmawijaya announced on Thursday.

"The growth shows that economic activities in Denpasar ran well, with major contributions from trading, tourism, finance, service and rental companies," he said.

Regional revenue in 2008 reached Rp 176.85 billion (US$16 million), surpassing the Rp 149 billion targeted. Meanwhile, per capita revenue increased from Rp 15.74 million to Rp 13.66 million.- JP
