Three people were injured Wednesday night in a violent street brawl that broke out after a boisterous dangdut concert in Yangbatu, East Denpasar.
Police have arrested 12 people and named them suspects in the incident.
The victims, Yanto, Hariyanto and Sujai, were taken to Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar.
Yanto suffered a deep gash in his left arm and was still receiving treatment Thursday, while the two other victims had been discharged.
"I don't know the attackers. There were around 20 of them," Yanto said, adding he felt he did not have any problem with them.
East Denpasar Police chief Adj. Comr. I Gede Ariantha said some of the suspects, who were drunk at the time, took offense after the victims unintentionally bumped into them when dancing during the packed concert.
"They first fought in the middle of the concert arena. The second brawl took place after the concert because some of the perpetrators still wanted to take revenge," he said.
He added the perpetrators attacked the three victims on Jl. Kapten Japa. One of the suspects, Kusnan, 25, carried a knife, while Iswato, 23, carried a broken bottle to attack the victims.
The other suspects, Fajar, 16, Darmin, 22, Kolig, 25, Purnomo, 24, Sudardi, 19, Doni, 23, Chairul Anwar, 23, Heri Purnomo, 25, Wawan, 23, and Agus, 23, assaulted the victims with their bare hands.
Ariantha said all the suspects had been charged with violating the Criminal Code's Article 170 for assault, and could face up to seven years in prison.
"All of them are now in police custody at the East Denpasar Police station," he said.
