The Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GF-ATM) will grant the Jakarta administration with US$2.2 million to help curb cases of the three diseases in the capital, governor Fauzi Bowo says.

Fauzi said Wednesday that the administration would allocate a larger portion of the fund on the prevention of HIV and AIDS.

”We aim to strengthen the capability of those in the frontlines such as officials in public health centers across the city to combat the diseases," Fauzi said after the signing of an agreement on the grant between the province and the National Aids Prevention Commission (KPAN).

Secretary of KPAN, Nafsiah Mboy, said the grant was an additional fund, while the main fund was still from the city and national budget.
