Jakarta reroutes traffic for flood canal construction

Jakarta administration will start rerouting traffic on Jl. Kol Sugiono and Jl. Pahlawan Revolusi in East Jakarta, following the construction of the East Flood Canal (BKT) in the area on Wednesday.
The traffic to and from Klender and Kalimalang will be diverted to other roads alongside Jl. Pahlawan Revolusi.
The traffic change starts on Wednesday, said the city transportation agency M. Tauchid in a statement.
He suggested all road users avoid the road or find other routes while the public works agency was carrying out the project.
The BKT project is aimed at mitigating flooding in the city and is expected to finish by the end of this year.
