It's Harem Time

The fashion and music communities no doubt said praise the lord when MC Hammer decided to say goodbye to entertainment for a more righteous path in life. But who would have thought that his signature (in)famous harem pants would make a comeback almost 20 years later, including on the Jakarta club scene. Jennifer Lopez' recent much reported faux pas aside, the pants can be both stylish and comfortable when worn right. The new version is sleeker and looks surprisingly sophisticate and sexy, especially in black.

There are pleated fronts, tie waists and pockets, and the all-in-one jumpsuit with harem-style trousers is easy to wear and flattering. Remember it's important to balance the baggy top half with a fitted top. High-heeled, strappy sandals or this season’s sultry shoe boots work best with the tapered leg. It takes guts, but when done right, to borrow from one of the Hammer's biggest hits, you can't touch it in making an impression.
