Prosperous and Justice Party (PKS) holds a consultative meeting today in Pancoran, South Jakarta, to decide its political strategy for the upcoming presidential election.

Earlier, the party said it would proposed its former chairman, Hidayat Nurwahid, as a vice presidential candidate for Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of the Democratic Party.

Democratic Party is scheduled to hold its consultative meeting on Sunday in Jakarta Fair Expo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

The Democrat chief patron who is also incumbent president, Yudhoyono, is scheduled to attend the meeting.

Analysts have said that Yudhoyono is facing a dilemma in choosing his running mate after softly rejecting incumbent vice president Jusuf Kalla of Golkar party by demanding the party to propose more candidates besides Kalla.

Among potential candidates currently being considered by Yudhoyono, the analysts said, include Hidayat of PKS, Hatta Rajasa of National Mandate Party and also current Secretary of State and Akbar Tanjung of Golkar.
