Regent of Pandeglang, Banten, Dimyati Natakusumah and Banten Legislative Council Speaker M. Acang, both suspects in an alleged embezzlement, secures enough vote for legislative seats, official vote counting shows.

Official counting results by Banten General Elections Commission shows that Dimyati and his wife Irna Narulita secured seats at the House of Representatives for the United Development Party with 127,187 votes and 127, 585 votes, respectively, tempointeraktif.com has reported.

Acang also secured another five year at the Banten Legislative Council for Golkar Party with 14,123 votes.

Banten High Prosecutors' Office has named both Dimyati and Acang as suspects in the alleged misuse of a Rp 200 billion (US$18 million) loan from Bank Jabar.

Acang has been detained since October last year and has been standing trial for his alleged crimes. Prosecutors accused him of masterminding bribes for all council members to secure the loans. (dre)
