Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Suryadharma Ali met with Megawati, chairwoman of the Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), at her home in Jln. Teuku Umar of Central Jakarta on Thursday.
Kompas.com has reported Suryadharma arrived at the house at 8:45 a.m. and was later welcomed by PDI-P faction head Tjahjo Kumolo.
Megawati only briefly answered queries about both politicians' meeting agenda.
“Of course, we will discuss some topics,” she said.
The meeting is a follow-up to their plans to create a coalition, along with the Golkar Party, the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra), the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) and National Mandate Party (PAN).
The PPP, which is facing an internal conflict, has yet to decide its final political stance ahead of the presidential election in July. (ewd)
