Mitsubishi-WIKA power plant project launched

Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation and state construction firm PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) are set to build a gas power plant with a total capacity of 740 megawatts in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
The project was launched by Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Purnomo Yusgiantoro Wednesday morning in Jakarta.
In an press statement, WIKA said that Mitsubishi Corporation will be the main contractor of the project; WIKA was appointed by Mitsubishi to carry out civil construction jobs worth a total of Rp 387 billion.
The project will be funded by JICA. It is expected to be completed in 32.5 months.
The gas for the power plant will be supplied via South Sumatra's gas pipeline.
