The Indonesian Military and National Police have prepared around 4,600 personnel to ensure security at the World Ocean Conference (WOC) and Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) Summit, which will be held in Manado, North Sulawesi, from May 11-15.

Six heads of state and some 3,000 delegates from 125 countries, as well as delegates from all 33 Indonesian provinces will attend the summit.

"We are ready to receive the heads of state," Manado military commander Legowo WR Jatmiko told tempointeraktif.com on Thursday.

Legowo also said the personnel, which also includes presidential guards, would be posted four days before the summit and would continue to guard the area until three days after the summit.

The WOC is set to focus on adaptation measures to help address adverse impacts of climate change on marine life.(dre)
