Bogor presidential palace open for public

BOGOR: The Bogor administration is set to open the city's presidential palace to the public from May 18 to 28 in observance of the city's 527th birthday.

Since the opening of registration for visitors on May 7, the event has managed to attract 3,000 local and foreign tourists, deputy head of the event committee, Sumantri, said Tuesday.

"To attract foreign tourists, we have informed all hotels and travel agencies in Bogor," Sumantri said.

The palace will be open during these dates, except on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

Head of the culture division at the Bogor Tourism Agency, Shahlan Rasyidi, said that in addition to the palace tour, the agency would also hold a series of art events, including the launching of "Bogor batik",a photo exhibition, and the Bogor Expo from May 20 to June 4.

Tourists interested in joining the tour can register at the palace's protocol offices or at the tourism agency office, Shahlan said. - JP
