Norwegian company shares ERP experiences

JAKARTA: A Norwegian company specializing in road-charging and tolling systems, Q Free, has shared its experiences in developing the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system, as a solution is sought for the capital's traffic problems.
Q Free president and CEO Oyvind Isakssen said the company had developed and deployed the ERP system in cities all over the world, including Stockholm in Sweden.
"We explained our experiences of different systems and models so the governor has the necessary background in his research," said Oyvind after a meeting with Governor Fauzi Bowo at City Hall., Wednesday.
He said the ERP system could significantly reduce air pollution and travel time.
In Stockholm, the travel time was reduced by more than 30 percent, while the pollution went down by more than 20 percent as a result of the system, Oyvind said. - JP
