PKS to meet with PD on Boediono’s candidacy

The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) will hold a final showdown with the Democratic Party (PD) on Friday to end the on-and-off relationships both parties have gone through due to the recent vice presidential candidacy of Bank Indonesia Governor Boediono.
"We will meet directly with PD's own presidential candidate and incumbent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) tomorrow to finally determine our final stance," PKS President Tifatul Sembiring said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Tifatul said that SBY must explain PKS regarding the reason of Boediono's candidacy.
"We want to be able to rationalize his reasoning, because if we decide to support SBY, then we'll have to explain a lot to our constituent," he said.
Tifatul said that PKS' constituents were mostly Muslim and that they saw Boediono as an unsuitable representative for them.
"We do not care about cabinet seats allocation, we want to make sure that our constituents are well represented," he said.
PKS is one of the earliest party which pledged their allegiance towards PD for the July presidential election.
However, both parties' relationships have been tarnished by the recent candidacy of Boediono.
PKS have threatened to leave the coalition and build an axis of their own if Boediono is nominated without proper reasoning from PD.(
