The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) is scheduled to meet with the Democratic Party (PD) on Thursday evening to finalize coalition negotiations ahead of July’s presidential election.
PKS's head of caucuses Mahfudz Siddiq said that his party would make use of the meeting to consider both parties coalition in parliament.
“The party will be represented by its president Tifatul Sembiring and its general secretary Anis Matta,” he said, as quoted by kompas.com.
The PKS previously expressed its disappointment over incumbent president and PD chief patron Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s selection of Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Boediono as his running mate for the upcoming election.
The PKS has threatened to pull out from the coalition the two parties had earlier agreed upon. (ewd)
