Candidates to attend health checkups Sunday-Monday

Three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are required to take health tests on Sunday and Monday after registering themselves at the General Elections Commission (KPU) on Saturday, kompas.com reported.

KPU member I Gusti Putu Artha said on Saturday that Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto were scheduled for checkups on Sunday, while Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Boediono would take the examination on Monday.

“We cannot yet reveal when Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto will take the tests since they have yet to make an appointment with us,” Artha said.

The KPU would on June 9 officially announce the status of candidates' health.

One day later, on June 10, candidates would receive numbers from the KPU, and the open campaign season would commence June 12. (ewd)
