Mega-Prabowo register candidacy with KPU

Presidential candidate Megawati Soekarnoputri and her vice-presidential running mate Prabowo Subianto officially registered their candidacy with the General Election Commission (KPU) on Saturday, kompas.com reported.

During the registration at the KPU office, secretary-general of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) Pramono Anung said that the pair had received supports from more political parties.

“As many as seven parties other than the PDI-P and the Greater Indonesian Movement Party (Gerindra) have thrown their support behind the pair,” he said, without going into details.

Pramono and Gerindra's general secretary Fadli Zon completed the administrative requirements for the registration at the KPU. (ewd)
