4 KPUD members named suspects in election fraud

TANGERANG: Tangerang police have named four members of Tangerang Elections Commission (KPUD) Kosasih, Baehaqi, Hisweni Dumaria and Dadang Hermawan as additional suspects in a fraud case implicating KPUD head Imron Khamami.

Tangerang police detective chief Comr. Budhi Heri Susyanto confirmed that police detectives had named those KPUD members suspects in the case, adding that police are still pursuing more suspects.

One of the suspects, Kosasih, confirmed their status on Monday.

"Yes, police have named us suspects," Kosasih said.

Kosasih, however, claimed that the illegal acts charged upon the suspects were "an unintentional administrative mistake"

"We reserve the right to a decision *as to whether or not we are guilty* in the case to the police, prosecutors and panel of judges," he said.

The Tangerang police named the KPUD chairman Imron Khamami a suspect in the election fraud case last week following reports filed by the municipal poll watch over an alleged 260 votes added illegally to the vote of the former council speaker, Krisna Gunata, who is running for a seat at the Banten Council, enough to allow the latter to secure a seat. - JP
