Jakarta Police detectives have detained a Mobile Brigade (Brimob) member, identified by the initials HD, for providing a gun allegedly used to shoot businessman Nasruddin Zulkarnaen to his death,  Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Wahyono said Friday.

HD is the second police officer implicated in the murder of the director of state-owned pharmaceutical company PT Putra Rajawali Banjaran after former South Jakarta Police Chief Sr.Comr. Wiliardi Wizar.

“Any police officer, whatever his rank is, I don't care, I will charge him as long as the evidences are enough to name him suspect,” Wahyono told the press.

The probe into HD's involvement was based on the investigation on a naval officer Andreas who has been previously arrested by the Navy Military Police last week.

Navy spokesman First Adm. Iskandar Sitompul said that Andreas had been charged of illegally selling a Rp 12.5 million (US$ 1,100) “Smith & Wesson” revolver to civilians.

Under a questioning session, Andreas admitted that he obtained the gun from HD, and gave it to his friend Fransiskus Tadon Keran. Fransiskus has been detained for allegedly field-coordinating the murder execution.

Jakarta Police has so far detained 10 suspects on the case including the suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Antasari Azhar and a media businessman Sigid Haryo Wibisono. (bbs)
