SURABAYA: The Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-Petrochina East Java has closed one of 10 exploration wells in Sukowati in Campurejo village, Bojonegoro regency, because of low output.

Field manager Sukarnoto Soekimin said Tuesday the JOB still had an oil output target of 35,000 barrels per day (bpd) despite the closure of Well 9 and the current output of 32,000 bpd.

"To reach that target, *we* are accelerating the drilling of another oil well in Sukowati, Well 11, and continuing to drill Well 12 and Well 12 A in Ngampel village, Kapas district," he told The Jakarta Post.

"Both *Well 12 and Well 12 A* are expected to be able to yield 2,000 bpd of oil," he said.

JOB Pertamina-Petrochina East Java is one of two operators working in the Cepu oil field block.

The other operator is Exxon Mobil. - JP
