JAKARTA: After the South Jakarta municipality removed road barriers in residential areas last week, the North Jakarta administration is slated to follow suit this Friday.
Head of North Jakarta's communication and information agency, Hasmi Chalid, said Monday the municipality would begin the removal by unlocking 22 out of 722 road barriers across the municipality to ease traffic congestion in main roads.
The 22 barriers comprise five in Kelapa Gading district, seven in Tanjung Priok district and 10 in Penjaringan district.
"We give the residents time to remove the barriers voluntarily before we take them down," Hasmi told beritajakarta.com. - JP
