JAKARTA: The Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) will hold an international workshop on new and renewable energies (AMNRE) in Jakarta next month.
The event will be held from June 9-11 at Putri Duyung Cottage, Ancol, in cooperation with the ASEAN sub-committee on material science and technology (SCMST) and the sub-committee on non-conventional energy research (SCNCER).
The workshop will also be sponsored by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) and the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO).
Prof. Masbah Rotuante Tagore Siregar, chairman of the AMNRE committee, said the aim of the workshop would be to encourage and unite intellectual ideas in the area of advanced material development for new and renewable energies.
"Development in new and renewable energies does not only focus on producing the energy itself, but also on generating zero pollution," Masbah said. - JP
