Six dead in Tana Toraja landslide

A family of six was buried alive in a landslide in Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi, on Saturday, Antara state news agency reported Saturday.

Four of the bodies were found in the afternoon, while the other two were still missing.

According to a witness, Selvi, the victims were trapped in their house at the time of the landslide.

The incident happened following incessant rains since Friday. Selvi said she had heard a thundering sound from the hill before the landslide hit.

She had tried to call the Daniel family to get out of their house but her shouts were defeaned by the storm.

The landslide also destroyed three other houses and blocked a village road.
