Bogor Transportation Agency will meet Monday with Jakarta Transportation Agency over the latter's move to ban intercity buses from picking up and dropping off passengers in the vicinity of the Indonesian Christian University (UKI), in Cawang, East Jakarta.
“Today's meeting is a continued coordination meeting. It is not about whether we accept [the ban] or not, because it comes under their authority. But [there are problems] to be solved,” said Ahmad Syarif, chief of the Bogor Transportation Agency, as quoted by Elshinta radio.
The Jakarta Transportation Agency started to clamp down last week on Bogor to Bekasi intercity buses exiting the Jagorawi turnpike, which connects Jakarta to Bogor, Tangerang and Ciawi, at the UKI, before entering the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) in the direction of Bekasi and Karawang.
Six bus companies have been on strike since Wednesday, leaving thousands of commuters stranded, forcing them to find other modes of transportation to get to work.
Some three million people commute to Jakarta from surrounding cities every day.
The agency has ordered the buses to go directly from Bogor to the JORR in an attempt to ease traffic congestion in the UKI area.
Bogor to Jakarta commuters were advised to take the buses that run from the Bogor bus terminal in Baranangsiang to the bus terminal in Kampung Rambutan, East Jakarta. (dre)

UKI's intersection over long time was used to for shadow bus station. Since its location very support and strategic for bus to pick and unload their passengers from suburb that work in Jakarta.
In addition to, it also to be interchange for commuters to change their transportation depend on work place destination.
It may indeed be true, this condition appears some problem, for instance, traffic jam and messy surround UKI's intersection. Thus, governments have to discuss and make good solutions to overcome the problem.
On my perspective, It is batter for administration to discuss in correlation with establish permanent bus station differ from banning topic.
